New Need For Speed game delayed for Battlefield 6
EA studio chief executive Laura Miele told Polygon that Criterion is still available and will be released for all platforms, including last-gen consoles, by March 2023, but with the acquisition of Dirt, F1 and Grid developer Codemasters, the company will be able to release racing games every year. Miele said that there is no need to rush for the next NFS game.
In fact, the Codemasters acquisition allows for more resources to be allocated for DICE-developed Battlefield 6, which is scheduled for release later this year. Electronic Arts thinks just like that and says “We will devote all the resources we have to this,” regarding Battlefield 6, which is said to support 128 people.
As EA plans to restructure Ghost Games, which developed the last four games in the NFS series, in February 2020, the series’ development duties were given to Criterion Games.
