These unwanted plants are not always among the green lawns, they stubbornly show up in the flower beds, in the gaps between the pavement or patio slabs. There is no garden without weeds. These plants tend to be very vigorous and that make them difficult to remove. A few home remedies can go a long way in controlling these weeds. We share tips on how to get rid of weeds from gardens.
Some home remedies against the weeds
Baking Powder
Baking powder can be found in every normal household, it is said to be a good home remedy for weed growth and without any side effects. Mix 3-4 packets of baking soda with 5 liters of water. To increase the effect, choose a sunny day. The water evaporates and the baking soda can do its job. The application must be repeated several times until lasting success is achieved.
Salt
Make a solution of 1 part salt to 5 parts hot water and pour it over the weeds. The salt in the water causes the weeds to dry out and eventually die. After about a week, the treated plants will have withered and can be removed. Instead of normal table salt, you can also use Bullrich salt from the pharmacy.
Vinegar
Using home remedies like vinegar or vinegar cleaners can be very effective but should be used with caution. Vinegar acidifies the soil and the effects soon become noticeable on surrounding crops and ornamental plants. In addition the groundwater is polluted, which leads to problems in the sewage system and sewage treatment plants.
